Jay-Liang Lin, et.al. of the Department of Kidneys, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Linkou, first found that a low-concentration of lead exposure will cause deteriorated renal function of chronic kidney disease, and first created a lead antidote therapy, it was verified to give improved long-term kidney function and to slow down the deterioration, and reduce the number of patients who require dialysis treatment and related cost. It was published in the New England Medical Journal, and was selected as the first thesis of the journal.

The survival ratio of the 200 liver receivers is 97.3% for the first year; 93.4% for the first five years. It was the highest survival ratio in the world at that time.

Professor Chao-Long Chen of Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital is the pioneer of liver transplants in Asia, and has the international leading status of live liver transplants. He has given outstanding contributions in enhancing the national health and international medical standard, he was awarded as 2007¡¦s new academy of science of the department of Medical Health, Chinese Academy of Engineering, and only the second person to received the academy of science award since 1994.

Founder and Chairman, Mr. Yung-Ching Wang passed away at the age of 92 in New Jersey, U.S.A. His memorial service was held on 11.08, 2008 in Chang Gung University. President Ma Ying-Jeou attended and issued an award. Cho-Shiuan Liu, the President of the Executive Yuan, Jing-Ping Wang, the President of the Legislative Yuan, Jian-Shiuan Wang, the President of the Control Yuan, and Ying-Cho, Lai, the President of the Judicial Yuan covered Chairman Yung-Ching Wang¡¦s coffin with flags together.
