Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, established in April 5, 1985, specializes in emergency, critical, and specialized medical care. The Lover’s Lake Branch was later established in November 03, 2006, specializing in oncology, mental health, rehabilitation, and community health. The Lover’s Lake Branch also has a teaching research building for clinical research and clinical teaching.
The Keelung Branch and Lover’s Lake Branch operate hand in hand with respective specialized focus to provide Keelung residents comprehensive medical healthcare services. Both branches were designed to be compatible with the standard of large general hospitals and teaching hospitals, such as purchasing various precision equipment and subdividing specialties to engage more professional medical services. In total, the two hospitals have a total of 1,093 beds and a servicing team of more than 2,000 staff, including attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, medical technicians, and administrative staff. The Keelung hospital was appraised as a high quality hospital by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and serves more than 928,000 outpatients, 77,000 patients in the emergency department, and 30,000 inpatients each year.

In recent years, the hospital also setup specialized medical centres such as the “Heart Failure Centre”, “Positron Emission Tomography Centre”, and “Chronic Kidney Disease Prevention Centre” to enhance patient services, improve healthcare quality and horizontally integrate the functions of different medical specialties.
