Attending Physician | Sheng-Nan Lu, MD, MPH, PhD, is the clinical professor in the Division of Hepatogastroenterology, the Department of Internal Medicine and the deputy-superintendent of the Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH). He is also an adjunct professor at the Chang Gung University College of Medicine in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Professor Lu graduated from the Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) in 1984 and then completed a two-year Master course in Public Health (MPH) at the National Taiwan University. Following this, he received complete training of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the KMU Hospital and became an attending physician in 1990, and was awarded a PhD degree by KMU in 1992. He moved to Kaohsiung CGMH in 1997, to Chiayi CGMH in 2017 and back to Kaohsiung CGMH in 2020. Currently, he provides medical service in Kaohsiung, and Chiayi CGMHs. Professor Lu has published more than 400 international papers with most being clinical and epidemiological studies of hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He serves as a Journal Referee of more than 50 peer-reviewed journals. Professor Lu is a member of council in the Gastroenterology Society of Taiwan (GEST), Taiwan Association for the Study of Liver (TASL), the Taiwan Liver Cancer Association (TLCA) and Asia Society of Tumor Ablation (ASTA). He is funding and current Chairman of the Kaohsiung Research Association for the Control of Liver Diseases (KRACOLD). He is the director of epidemiology group in National Hepatitis C Program Office and a member of Committee for Liver Cancer and Hepatitis Prevention and Control, Minister of Health and Welfare, Taiwan.
